Sacriston Front Street

Welcome to Sacriston Parish Council

Sacriston, the former mining village is situated 2 miles north-west of Durham and has the appearance of a small town. Little evidence of the mining operations now remains, with the area around the former coal mine having been landscaped and turned into woodland.

Today Sacriston is mostly residential, there is a small industrial estate in the centre of the village and more housing estates have been built whilst still retaining the open countryside surrounding the village.

Sacriston Parish Council is made up of 15 councillors and meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.00pm in the Fulforth Centre, Front Street, Sacriston.
