How to find Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill

Coxhoe lies 5 miles south of Durham City on the cross-roads of the A177 and B6291 roads near to Junction 61 of the A1M motorway and is situated between the villages of Bowburn and Cornforth.

By Bus

By Car

From Durham city head west on Gilesgate/A181, at the roundabout take the 4th exit onto A690, At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A!(M) ramp to Darlington. Merge onto A1(M). At Junction 61, take the A1477 exit to Spennymoor/A688/Peterlee. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto B6291 heading to Peterlee/Quarrington Hill/Coxhoe. Go through 1 roundabout to arrive at Coxhoe.  To reach Quarrington Hill continue to drive through the village and turning left at the traffic lights. Continue on this road for approximately one and a half miles will take you to Quarrington Hill.

Alternatively to get to Quarrington Hill from Durham head east on Gilesgate/A181 toward Magdalene St go 0.1 mile. Turn right at Sherburn Rd/A181 and Continue to follow A181 for about go 1.1 miles. Turn right to stay on the A181 and travel a further 1.4 miles. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit and go 1.1 miles. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit and travel 1.6 miles. This will take you directly into Quarrington Hill.
