Committees

The Town Council currently operates five main Committees which are as follows:

Allotments and Environment Committee

The Allotments and Environment Committee deals with all matters concerning its nine allotment sites and is responsible for any general environmental issues within the Town Council's area.
Meetings take place as and when required.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee deals with all financial matters which arise in the Town Council's area.
Meetings normally take place on the third Tuesday of the month at 4.00pm.

Human Resources Committee

The Human Resources Committee deals with all matters concerning staff.
Meetings take place as and when required.

Planning Committee

The Planning Committee deals with planning applications which are submitted to Durham County council for consideration.
Meetings normally take place on the last Tuesday of the month, following the Town Council meeting which starts at 6.00pm.

Strategy Committee

The Strategy Committee deals with the future planning and overall improvement of the Bishop Auckland Town Council area.
Meetings take place as and when required.

Note: All meetings are notified in writing with a confirmed date and time which is displayed in the Town Council notice board.
The notice board is situated at the main entrance of the Four Clocks Centre, 154a Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland.
